DATA & PRIVACY

Privacy policy

How OT Catcher handles your data, permissions and purchases.

1. Inventory on your device

The app stores your sessions, asset values, custom fields, forms, location hierarchies and configured site addresses and coordinates locally as JSON files. Settings, an installation ID and introductory tip progress are stored locally. We found no proprietary network transmission of this inventory, advertising SDK or analytics SDK.

Data remains until you delete it or the app data is erased. Device backups and copies you share may remain for longer. Manage those separately. The provider cannot remotely access, change or delete your local data for you.

2. Camera and photos

With permission, you can photograph an equipment label or use existing photos. The app requests photo library access to show the most recent accessible photo and also offers a photo picker. Apple VisionKit analyses the image for text selection; selected text can be placed in asset fields. In the reviewed storage code, these images are not saved as asset attachments or sent to a proprietary server.

Network access is enabled in the Apple photo loader for the most recent photo. If a photo is in iCloud, Apple may retrieve it. Manage access and iCloud settings with Apple on your device.

3. Location and address lookup

The app may request your location once during an inventory round to suggest a nearby configured site. The location remains in memory for that session; there is no background tracking and no GPS position is stored per asset. The selected location in the hierarchy is stored with the asset.

When you look up a site address, the app first asks you to confirm sending the address query to Apple. The code uses Apple Maps/geocoding; the current device location is not added to that query. A selected site address, coordinates and recognition radius are stored locally and may be included in a shared location tree. See Apple Maps and privacy.

4. Sharing, Apple and backups

Export files are created locally and offered through the iOS share sheet to an app or destination you select. That destination may process data externally. The app has no proprietary CloudKit synchronisation; iOS/iCloud backups, iCloud Photos and Apple platform services have their own data processing. See Apple’s privacy policy. Only share data you are authorised to share.

5. Purchases

Apple processes payment for Premium. The app uses StoreKit to verify your purchase entitlement and restore purchases. It receives purchase information from Apple, but no payment card details. We do not collect payment information through this website.

6. Support and website

When you email support, we receive your email address, message and any information you choose to include, in order to handle your request. We use this information to handle your support request and any follow-up questions.

This website has no analytics or trackers of its own, contact form or external fonts. It is hosted through Cloudflare. When you visit, the hosting provider processes technical information, such as your IP address and request data, to deliver and secure the website.

7. Your rights

For personal data we process, you may request access, correction, erasure, restriction or portability, and where applicable object or withdraw consent. Contact us through the support page. Withdrawal does not apply retroactively. You can disable iOS camera, photo or location permissions yourself; a system permission does not in itself determine the legal basis under the GDPR.

We respond within the statutory period, normally one month. You can lodge a complaint with the Dutch Data Protection Authority or your competent local supervisory authority. Apple’s own privacy channels also apply to processing by Apple.
